What’s next?

Alright. As my pencils and brushes rested during the Holiday and around New Year I am now back at work on this. I though I’d use the fresh start of the year to give you a small insight into what to expect and what my ideas are.

😳 As mentioned in one of the previous posts I never thought this would work so well so soon. Though this was the original idea all along – to have something to work on parallel to my regular job as a web developer. With the perspective of creating some sort of side-job that would at least be self-sufficient (art supplies are quite pricey). I even dared to dream about financing my yearly trip to #London coming September with the revenues. Then you all blew me away. The needed budget was earned in fewer than three weeks.

👩🏻‍🎨 For the first time in my life I really get the idea and the hopes up that someday I can do this all day long and build my life upon it. This is so weird. Because right now this is just the start. I can only imagine how this may evolve in the coming months or years.

📦 Currently on my plate are some more commissions, two winners of raffles – one done her lately and the other one at eis.de – and one more collaboration. Also this week I will do all the shippings I pushed into January because I didn’t want to risk the pictures being damaged in the christmas gift shopping armageddon.

🤘And what about the future: Right now nothing will change really. I will stick with nude art and water colours for the time being. This is my playground and my place to be when the normal life get’s rough. Which it did and will do because of this whole … you know.

🚀 But as I am a creative entrepreneur from heart I already got some slight ideas what could come in the future. First of all I will dare to jump from the smaller formats with water colour onto larger canvases – 1 x 1 meters eg. This will be done in acrylics then. Right on the opposite side I am working on an offer in pencil-only drawings which I can offer for a smaller price tag. One more thing that is on my mind I mentioned already : Apart from nude art I want to get into portrait painting as well. Something I am not too good in right now. This is something for maybe 2022. I need the practice until then.

Okay. Nachdem Bleistifte und Pinsel über Weihnachten und Neujahr geruht haben geht es nun endlich weiter. Da dachte ich, dass ich die Frische des neuen Jahres nutze, um Dir mal ein paar Einblicke zu geben und dir zu sagen, was ich so vorhabe.

😳 Wie bereits erwähnt: Ich hatte nicht damit gerechnet, dass das hier so schnell so gut funktionieren würde. Obwohl das von Anfang an die Idee war – etwas zu haben, an dem ich neben meinem eigentlichen Beruf als Web-Entwickler arbeiten kann. Mit der Aussicht, daraus so etwas wie einen Nebenjob zu schaffen, der sich zumindest selbst trägt. (Kunstmaterialen kosten eine Menge Geld!) Ich hatte sogar den verrückten Gedanken, eventuell damit meinen #alleineurlaub im kommenden September in London zu finanzieren. Dann habt ihr mich völlig überrascht. Das dafür notwendige Budget war in weniger als drei Wochen drin.

👩🏻‍🎨 Zum ersten mal in meinem Leben konnte ich mir vorstellen und hoffen, eines Tages den ganzen Tag zu malen und damit mein Leben zu bestreiten. Das ist total irre. Weil wir ja erst am Anfang stehen. Ich male mir gar nicht aus, was aus diesem hier in den kommenden Monaten und Jahren werden kann.

📦 Für den Moment habe ich noch ein paar Aufträge abzuarbeiten, muss zwei Gewinnerbilder malen und noch eine Collaboration abliefern. Außerdem will ich diese Woche die Lieferungen versenden, die ich zurückgehalten hatte, damit sie im Weihnachtspost-Trubel nicht beschädigt werden.

🤘Und was die Zukunft angeht: Erst einmal ändert sich nichts. Ich bleibe bei der Aktmalerei in Aquarell. Fürs erste. Dies ist mein Spielplatz und der Ort an den ich gehe, wenn das normale Leben über mir zusammen schälgt. Was es getan hat und tun wird. Weil, wegen … Du weißt schon.

🚀 Aber da ich von Herzen ein Kreativunternehmer bin habe ich schon ein paar lose Ideen für das was kommen kann. Erst einmal möchte ich den Sprung von den kleineren Formaten auf die größeren Leinwände machen. Zum Beispiel 1 mal 1 Meter. Dann als Acryl. Auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite konzipiere ich eine Serie nur in Bleistift in kleineren Formaten. Mit einem entsprechen günstigeren Honorar. Und dann habe ich noch die Idee, neben der Aktmalerei Portraits anzubieten. Aber darin bin ich noch nicht wirklich gut. Vielleicht ab 2022 dann.
